We said goodbye to Fakarava and Luca, and sailed to Tahiti. We are anchored in a bay in Papeete near the airport. It’s strange to be near a city again! We did a bit of sightseeing, and some practical shopping – boat parts. We even went to McDonalds… Sometimes that’s just what you want, or think you want! The kids loved it.
We met a lovely couple, Jutta and Mike, who live on a sistership! Alila is also an Irwin 52. She is in great shape – Mike and Jutta have maintained her very well. We have enjoyed hanging out with them, comparing Irwin stories and getting inspired. The kids love hanging out with them too.
We sailed together with Alia to Mo’orea. What a stunning place! It gets a bit busy, and it’s easy to see why. It’s just beautiful. And there is a great supermarket close to the beach where we are stocking up for our journey to new Zealand. Not long now…
