Mahon, allegedly the birthplace of Mayonnaise. We got here last night just before sundown. We originally planned to go to a Cala on the south coast of Menorca, but when we got there the anchorage was so poor due to the prevailing wind that we carried on an extra 20M to Mahon. The anchorage here is great. Nestled between old fortresses from the 1850’s. A lesson learnt in there in passage planning.
The trip itself was pretty vomit ridden, with kids throwing up right, left, and centre. Next time we will get them off the iPads and get them to play with their toys in the cockpit. I was feeling fine, until I was mopping up Beau’s vomit, when Zoe came out of her cabin. From the look of her face I saw she was about to go. Picking her up and rushing to a bucket, she didn’t quite make it and I got a full force vomit all over me. The sweet sickly smell set me off, as I felt pretty queasy myself and joined in the vomit fiesta.
Good to stretch the legs this afternoon, walking around the old fort. Looking out to the sea. We are watching the weather for a window for our crossing to Sardinia.
fantastic max making me jelous not that I’m normally jelous of enyone but your life looks great. Keep up the log and let us know when in Sardinia.
