Sitting on the wall
Korcula is a beautiful medieval walled town, situated on a small peninsula. We arrived in the bay close to town early, dropped anchor and left Spacegrazer to go exploring.
It was a hot day and the sea looked more attractive to the kids than the town did. So Max had the brilliant idea to let them swim outside the city wall while we sat outside a cafe on top of the wall with a drink. Win-win situation!
The kids had a blast swimming with a bunch of local children. They had soon conquered a spot on their paddle board and then joined them in their hunt for crabs and shells. Meanwhile we had some grown-up quality time.
Refreshed and revived, we strolled around the meandering car-free streets. I read somewhere that the town was planned in such a way that one half of the streets run east to west, and the other north to south. That way, the cold northerly wind that blows in winter is blocked, but the cool southerly breeze of summer can flow through.
Back on Spacegrazer, we realised that we were anchored right next to a floating playground, so we just had to go there next!
My how inviting the water looks, kids having a ball!
Another idyllic place looks extremely inviting harry would be so jealous but then who knows he’s probably right beside you enjoy and fill your hearts.xx
