For people interested in our sailboat and the things we do to keep her floating, I have added ‘boat stuff’, which may or may not float yours.
People ask us constantly what type of boat Spacegrazer is. She is an Irwin 52, designed by Ted Irwin and built in 1988, in Florida, USA. These boats were built for the charter industry in the Caribbean, hence in the Mediterranean you don’t see many of them about.
When looking for boats, we were looking for something that would be comfortable both at sea, and at anchor. We weren’t looking at getting anywhere fast. Picture a campervan on the water. When we first saw her in Barcelona in August 2015 we loved her straight away.
